Step 7 - I opened the bmp
in EPACoder and tried to convert it to EPA Version 1 and received
the usual error message about there being more that one color
in a particular block ( it's more than likely that more one block
is involved ) .

Step 8 - In
order to find where the problem is I now opened the bmp in Bios
Logo and convert it to epa format then recolor the letters but
in this case it's not obvious at first where the colors over lap
so I have to save the epa file this time to test.epa since the
shareware version won't allow me to save with the same file name
again ( I should break down and buy it ! ) .

Step 9 - This
time I opened test.epa in EPACoder , convert it to bmp and saved
it to test.bmp . After opening the test.bmp in Paint the problem
now visible ( the letter S has two colors ) . So I copy the text
and then paste it a little to the right , again remove the green
shareware text from the right corner and change the letter S to
all blue then save the bmp .

Step 10 - I
then opened the test.bmp in EPACoder and converted it to EPA version
1 without any errors . If your not so lucky just edit the bmp
a little more until your successful .

Step 11 - I
now added a image to the bmp in this case the buzz saw character
from my flashbak logo ( you can draw your own or use any image
as long as is only 16 colors and small enough but be aware that
some will be very hard if not impossible to get to work ) . After
copying the image I pasted it into the test.bmp and saved . I
then repeated steps 7 thru 10 until I didn't receive any errors
when converting it to EPA Version 1 and saved the bmp to Buckshot.bmp
and the epa to Buckshot.epa from EPACoder .

Step 12 - Now
we're ready to incorporate the new logo into our bios . I first
copy the bios bin file ( in this case VP6_WK.bin ) , Buckshot.epa
and the cbrom.exe into a working directory ( I use Bios ) . Then
I opened a Command Prompt window and typed in the following command
" cbrom VP6_WK.bin /epa Buckshot.epa " without the quotation
marks , then enter and the new logo is inserted into the bios
. There are three temporary files created by this process and
they can be safely deleted . All that's left to do now is flash
your bios and enjoy the new logo . Remember to save the epa and
bmp files along with the cbrom.exe in case you choose to update
your bios when a newer version is released . Also note that the
only thing changed from the original bios is the logo and the
file size remains the same .
